Baby Phat has positioned itself in the world of fashion as a premiere brand. Now your fashion sense can be reflected in your card as well. The Baby Phat RushCard says that you are just as savvy about money as you are about clothes. It gives you all the flexibility that “plastic” offers, without exposing you to a credit card’s high interest rates and the danger of falling into debt.
The card requires payments in advance, which are then used to offset future purchases made with the card. Money can be loaded by direct deposit, PayPal, Check, Mail Order and retail affiliated merchants.
There is a one-time activation fee of $19.95. You are charged a $1 transaction fee for each purchase made with the card, however this is capped at $10 per month.
A refer-a-friend program is available where you receive $5 for every referred applicant who becomes an active RushCard™ member.
Unlike most prepaid credit card this card does offer shopping discounts at participating retailers. Unfortunately, this card does not report cardholder transactions to the credit bureaus.
